Hi, I'm Courtney, the heart behind DaisyRain Boutique.
I'm a twenty-eight year old mum from the Gold Coast, Queensland. For the past ten years I've worked within Queensland Health. I love that career, but becoming a mum changed how I saw everything, and it gave me the push to follow a dream I had been carrying quietly for years.
The long way to becoming a mum
At twenty-one, after the end of a long relationship, I was told my fertility was declining rapidly.
Knowing I might lose the chance to become a mum at all, I started IVF to try to preserve my eggs. It was a long stretch of setbacks and heartbreak. Six rounds failed. On the last round, I got one egg.
One.
I made one of the biggest decisions of my life and chose to fertilise that single egg using a donor from Ireland, hoping it might give me the chance to be somebody's mum.
Three years later I have my daughter, Daisy Rain. She is almost three, and she is the reason every part of this exists.
Why DaisyRain exists
Becoming Daisy's mum opened my eyes to how much magic there is in early childhood, and how quickly it moves.
I found myself searching for beautiful, thoughtfully made things that encouraged imagination and open-ended play without giving up on quality or on how they looked in our home. I wanted pieces that felt timeless. Pieces that could be loved for years rather than replaced every season.
They were surprisingly hard to find. So I started DaisyRain.
How I choose what goes in the shop
Every piece in the collection is chosen against the same standard I hold for my own daughter.
If I wouldn't proudly have it in Daisy's playroom, it isn't here.
What I'm aiming for is premium quality that is safe, beautiful, useful and genuinely good at sparking little imaginations, kept as affordable as I possibly can for families.
Where life is now
Life has come full circle in ways I never expected.
I get to share this with my biggest supporter, Liam. Between his two children and my Daisy Rain, our house is full of love, noise and the beautiful chaos of childhood. His belief in me is a large part of why this dream became a real thing rather than a maybe.
